Archiving and Backup Policy

JREM has electronic backup and preservation of access to the content of its journals via PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The LOCKSS program offers decentralized and distributed preservation, seamless perpetual access, and preservation of the authentic original version of the content.

PKP has developed the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve OJS journals. The PKP PN ensures that journals can be preserved for long-term access. For additional details about the PKP PN, see the high level overview.

JREM implements an additional backup policy to protect against data loss.

Onsite Backup: The onsite full server backups provide disaster recovery options to help protect against data loss or corruption. Onsite backups are run weekly and retained for 7 days by default.

Remote Backup: JREM ensures daily backups of the OJS database and weekly backups of the cPanel at Amazon S3 for disaster recovery. All backups are retained for 7 days by default.
